Hip Pain

What is Hip Pain?

Hip pain is pain around the joints connecting our legs to our pelvis. When the biomechanics of our feet are in an unstable or incorrect position then most likely the hips may suffer as a result of this excess motion causing hip and pelvic pain.
 
Symptoms
  • Mild to moderate pains in the hip region
  • Restricted movement
  • Clicking noise
  • Sever pain at times
  • Tenderness and swelling
Cause
  • Hip pain can be caused by a condition such as Greater Trochanteric Bursitis  or because of impact and injury or due to overuse of the area (due to exercise)
  • Sometimes it can be caused to unusual foot mechanics affected the hip
  • Femur fracture (thigh bone) occurs when there is extreme force applied to the bone, common in road traffic accidents
Treatment
  • Rest
  • Stretching and strengthening exercises
  • Wearing insoles/orthotics will help prevent further problems
  • Seeing a physical therapist or doctor
Prevention
  • Where the cause is related to abnormal foot mechanics the use of Foot Orthotics can help prevent further problems
